Here’s what you’ll need to sell us your car

When you deliver your car to one of our ten dealerships spread across Canada, we will give you a free appraisal that will be the most accurate assessment of your car’s worth that you will find throughout the nation.

Unfortunately, paperwork is a necessary process and is the second step.
By bringing us as much information as you can, you will greatly reduce the time taken to complete the process. Most states will need the following information:
  • A valid photo ID off whomever is one the car’s title
  • A copy of the vehicle registration for all named person’s on the title
  • If you own the vehicle, you will need to produce a valid title.
  • If there is money owed on the vehicle, Leggat will save you time-consuming legal procedures by providing you with a Secured Power of Attorney form that must be signed by all persons on the vehicle’s title.
  • You must be forthcoming about any damage that the vehicle has suffered in the past, such as flood damage and salvage history.
  • Whomever is named on the title must be present to sign all documents.
  • All keys to the vehicle, and all other means of entry must be handed over.

After you have provided this information, Leggat will issue you with the following documents to complete the transaction. All documents supplied by us have already been filled out. All that is required of you, the customer, is your signature.
  • A Vehicle Purchase Agreement
  • An Odometer Disclosure Statement
  • A Damage Disclosure Statement

It should be noted, that if we have doubts about certain vehicles, we reserve the right to refuse appraisal of them.
